We have invited the Governor and your elected officials to attend this meeting in August. We have also invited officials from those districts north and south of us….Nutrient loads which feed algae continue to flow downstream. The entire watershed of the Red Cedar needs assistance and is affecting the Mississippi River Basin and helps to create the "Dead Zone" in the Gulf of Mexico. We need you to come out and be counted as citizens who want to see change!!
The above picture was taken on Tainter Lake in August, 2008. The water was toxic! The Wisconsin Public Health Department has chosen this picture for their new website on Harmful Algae Blooms: Report an Illness www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/eh/bluegreenalgae
The problem on Lakes Tainter and Menomin has reached a level where we can no longer afford to sit back and wait for long-term solutions. We need to reduce the threat to our children, pets, livestock, and ourselves now. Urge your friends and neighbors to attend. This nation cannot afford to delay solutions to our water crises any longer.

REMEMBER: EVERTHING FLOWS DOWNSTREAM!! Support your Lake Association’s efforts to clean up our lakes. Contact your elected officials and ask them to support initiatives to reduce the green.
